Encourage Creativity: 5 Great Projects for Children’s Rooms
Decorating a child’s room has always been a challenging yet fun and exciting thing for parents. In fact, even before the child is born, parents already have an idea on what the room should look like. Nonetheless, when infant days are over and toddler days begin up to a few more years, the room’s decoration may have to be changed.
Children develop their own tastes over time and what better way to help spark and encourage their creativity than to include them in a decorating project for their own room. Here are some of the best ways to decorate a child’s room and, of course, with the child’s approval.
Playhouse / Play town
The playhouse/ play town theme is perhaps one of the best projects in decorating a child’s room. Aside from having a range of designs to choose from, there’s also a lot of freedom in choosing the light fixtures and ceiling lights. Depending on the chosen kind of playhouse or play town theme, there’s no limit to the kind of lighting fixture that can be used. The theme also allows any child to have as many playtime opportunities as possible. From a bike shop to a theatre or house inspired theme, there are many designs and components to choose from.
Favorite Animals
Every child goes through a phase where they become fond of a certain animal or certain sets of animals. Regardless of whether it’s a bird, cat or dog, this theme will certainly hit close to a child’s heart. Putting up wall art of animals and even having the kid help out in painting can be a very good activity. Put some deck lights to illuminate the animals and get a very cozy yet appealing effect.
Outer Space
The outer space will certainly fascinate any child. With those glow in the dark stickers and fantastic blue ceiling lights, a star studded view above coupled with planet painted walls should do the trick. Constellations are also a fun way to decorate the ceiling and make the room even more convincing.
Cartoon Characters
Children will always have their favorite cartoon character. Putting different pictures and making the room appear like it was made for that character can be an interesting thing to do. Add pendant lighting for color and light and bring out the youthful ambiance.
Sports
Basketball, car racing, gymnastics, ballet and other activities also make for a really good room project. Put some under cabinet lights and set the stage for the world of sports. There’s no limit in designing a sport-inspired room.
Decorating rooms make for a really good project. Depending on the theme, it may be an interesting and educational experience.
